The Christmas Mantels at N.Church...

,

In the words of the Little Red Hen..."Oh, who will help take the Mantels Down?". (Well, something like that.) Tell you what, I'll serve the bread if you want to come and join me in the putting away of Christmas, anytime between now and Valentine's Day. :)

(What did you expect me to say, "I'll do it myself'", said the Little Red Hen?)

So many and so beautiful, the mantels you have, Mrs. Little Red Hen. If I get home before the job is done..."I will, I will!", said the Goose. (If you will make more chicken and dumplings, that is.)

Daddy would have those clocks
running on the mantels, if he were
here. How many
nights did I have to stop and
wind up the Seth Thomas in the
bedroom, he didn't let me wind
the one the old lady on his route
gave him on living room mantel.
I want to hear at night not listen
to clocks ticking.

I like this post...

It makes me feel special that I lived in such a fine home with such elegant mantels. Maybe that's why I dream so big.

Mom, I need your Interior Decorator to make my 5 mantels look as good as yours. Maybe you could put a good word in for me. Our homes our so similar. I thought I was building a Sam Davis home, but it was my child hood home I wanted all the time.

What a sweet thought JuLu, but the
only thing in common with your childhood home and your Pondrosa
is the many mantels.
However it is not the house but
the home thats within. Both yours and mine were so loved filled. That
may be why the grands and greats
want to return now and then.

Oh, did the Little Red Hen get any volunteers? I'll try and get home soon.
