Once a Queen, always a queen. (In school I was called Queenie).
I am an 80 year old great grandmother who adores her family and loves learning new things.
The slide show highlights sixty years of a happy committed relationship, one that encouraged strong family bonds, faith, community support and devotion to one’s mate.
The song, Honey Eyed Girl, was one that my father heard on the radio one day and came home wanting Mother to find it for him because it reminded him of her. It became his song of the woman he loved.
The song, As Time Goes By, was their song for each other. It has been played over the years on many special occasions as a touching reminder of Mom and Dad’s love for each other. You will also hear the song playing when you open music boxes found around their house as well as the homes of their children.
The message of the video is simple; marriage, as God intended, is solid and fruitful, with memories for a lifetime. As a fruit of this relationship, I am most grateful.
I loved going down memory lane with you Mother, I love being one of your daughters.
This is such a nice way to mark Dad's birthday, our song should be; Thanks for the Memories.
Moma, What a way to celebrate Dad's birthday and all that he gave us in his dash. What a beautiful life story. So simple, but full of all the things money can't buy. I think you for your part in his life. You were the wind beneath his wings, his honey eyed girl and his EVERYTHING. Hold your head high, Moma. Smile when you remember and thank God for the gift.
Thanks, Merry for the endless hours we spent together putting togather the little movie for 5/4/09. didn't he have a wonderful dash? Yes, Judy he gave all he could during his dash. 1924 - 2005 People have surely indulged me today, thanks to all. mom
