Our Song

Love songs are never out of date...

Once again I was touched by love when my dear friend and neighbor came through the back door, violin in hand  and played the perfect song in celebration of what would have been Leonard's and my 66th wedding anniversary.  She played it once before as I danced around the floor, with the love of my life, at our 50th Anniversary Party; with all our friends and family looking on.  Both times I will never forget.  What a precious gift, "our song" played fresh and new right here in my kitchen where Leonard and I spent so many years of our lives.

Thank you Susan, from the bottom of my heart...and
Happy Anniversary, Darling, my memories are perfect...so

Play it again, Sam

You must remember this
A kiss is just a kiss, a sigh is just a sigh.
The fundamental things apply
As time goes by.
And when two lovers woo
They still say, "I love you."
On that you can rely
No matter what the future brings
As time goes by.
Moonlight and love songs
Never out of date.
Hearts full of passion
Jealousy and hate.
Woman needs man
And man must have his mate
That no one can deny.
It's still the same old story
A fight for love and glory
A case of do or die.
The world will always welcome lovers
As time goes by.
Oh yes, the world will always welcome lovers
As time goes by.

Again, thank you, Susan, for the dance.

{And thank you, Lord, for giving me a fourth daughter
right next door.}

Visits from #1 Grandson and beautiful family

I had such a great surprise last Friday when I got a call
from my Grandson in Atlanta saying his family would
be attending the U2 concert in Nashville and on
the way they wanted to stop and have a little
visit with  me. Children grow so fast you can imagine
my delight to see these two great-grands that
I had not seen for over a year.
They stopped and brought Italian food and we
had good lunch and a four or five hour visit.
He said if they had time on Sunday they would
stop by just for a hug, because they would not
have much time.
They stayed over another night in Nashville
and did stop by on the 4th for that hug,
I had quite a suprise, when Issy whispered
something to her Dad and went running to
the car. She came back with a beautiful silver
neckless with a watch on it with a
sweet crown on it. She bought it at
the Hermitage. She whispered to me that
she got it for me for Christmas but she
just could not wait til then.
Precious family, precious visit and just
a great feeling to know you are loved.
Though days will pass and things may change,
I will always be proud of you,
and will always love you.
I w ill hold you close in my thoughts and
prayers, as you  continue to love and
                                                            nuture your sweet children.
                                                            This was my first grandchild!
                                                                     I now have 15.
